Job description

We wish to appoint an experienced, committed and innovative Business Lead to join our team. Working as part of a dedicated, hardworking and supportive team, key responsibilities of this role will include the running and organisation of the school office. The successful candidate will:

• Have proven office experience and the ability to manage office systems
• Be able to plan for and implement new initiatives to further improve the running of the school office efficiently
• Have the ability to manage their time effectively, use initiative, and be professional with a flexible attitude
• Comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection (GDPR), reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
• Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
• Communicate and co-operate with persons or agencies outside the school
• Work with school leaders to build an effective partnership between the school and parents

Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Primary School is in the process of converting to Academy status and are aiming to join the Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust with effect from 1st January 2026. As the closing date for this post is 9th January 2026, the appointment to the post will take place post-conversion and therefore, the employment will be directly with the Trust, and not subject to TUPE transfer. If the proposed transfer is postponed and does not go ahead before the start date of the Business Lead, employment will be with the school's governing body.

This means employment will TUPE transfer to the Trust, along with other school employees, on the new transfer date. If this is the case, a meeting will be arranged in which the TUPE process will be explained.
