A leading educational institution in the UK is seeking a School and College Engagement Officer in Exeter. The role involves developing relationships with schools and colleges to enhance student recruitment efforts. The successful candidate will deliver various outreach events and programmes, and must be educated to degree level with strong communication and project management skills. This full-time position offers hybrid working options and requires a full UK driving licence.
External Engagement and Global Access, Participation and Outreach. The postholder will need to be based in Exeter visiting schools and colleges covering a geographical area from Gloucestershire to Hertfordshire. This role is a permanent full-time position, available as soon as possible. Hybrid working is available – some time on campus and some from home.
We have an exciting opportunity within the Schools and Colleges Engagement Team. The role is for a School and College Engagement Officer to develop excellent relationships with schools and colleges primarily in a geographical area from Gloucestershire to Hertfordshire. It is envisaged that the post holder will live and work in Exeter.
Working as part of the Access, Participation and Outreach Office, you will deliver a range of events and programmes to support student recruitment and widening participation. You will build and maintain excellent relationships with schools and colleges in the UK to attract applications from high quality students from diverse backgrounds and to support the University’s widening participation agenda.
Although based in Exeter, you will spend a significant portion of your role working out in schools and colleges, meeting with teachers and HE advisors to agree a programme of activities, or delivering workshops, recruitment and educational sessions. You will also be involved in developing lesson plans, online resources and/or marketing materials. You will contribute towards the successful delivery of online outreach through the Discover University programme of activities. You will support our Easter and summer residential programmes, run occasional events on campus in Exeter, and help run CPD sessions for teachers and HE advisors. You will represent the university at national exhibitions organised by partners including UCAS and UK Uni Search among others.
An important part of your role will be developing an engagement plan for your region based on analysis of data. You will support the creation and delivery of evaluation plans, write reports as part of continual improvement and performance management. You will also lead on particular projects or areas of specialism on behalf of the team and be involved in cross-departmental working groups and project teams.
