Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience (school‑based experience desirable).
  • Strong working knowledge of school systems (e.g. SIMS or similar).
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.

School Receptionist/Admin Assistant - Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Billingham

£13.68 per hour | Start: January 2026 | Full‑time, temporary with potential to become permanent.

We are seeking a reliable and organised Admin Assistant to join our busy secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) school. This is a full‑time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • General administrative duties to support the school office
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to emails
  • Managing attendance records and pupil data
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning and data entry
  • Supporting staff, pupils and visitors to the school
  • Assisting with diary management and school communications
  • Using and maintaining school systems accurately
  • Adhering to school policies, including safeguarding and confidentiality
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous administrative experience (school‑based experience desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of school systems (e.g. SIMS or similar)
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • A calm, professional approach in a busy environment
