Salary: Analyst level: circa £43k, Manager level: circa £55k

Location: Leeds city centre or Birmingham city centre

WFH policy: Employees are required to attend the office 2 days/week

Role Summary: The Scheme Operations Analyst/Manager will be required to work flexibly supporting the Low Carbon Contracts Company's Operations Hub team. The Operations Hub team sits under the CFO and includes the Change and Settlements functions. The Scheme Operations Analyst will play a pivotal role in scheme management focused on the critical settlement, operational and compliance activities.

This vacancy represents an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop a deep understanding of the operations and implementation of the Schemes. The Scheme Operations Analyst role will be centered around proving analytical support to managing performance, operational delivery and continuous improvement of the Schemes.

The role will work with a broad range of stakeholders across LCCC and manage a variety of tasks including input to settlements change, resolution of payments related issues, fraud monitoring and prevention, technical documentation that will outline business processes, data catalogues and data interface requirements, and operator instructions.

Experience of process evaluation, developing calculation models and working collaboratively with operations teams is highly desirable. Specific knowledge of the Energy industry is desirable but not essential.

The role will champion the delivery of operational excellence throughout LCCC including document control, budgeting, data management and driving development and implementation of the processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the analysis of data associated with the Schemes. Providing analytical support to the team, new schemes program, and related projects, including gap analysis and option evaluation
  • Developing and implementing processes and procedures for Schemes
  • Support with document control activities on behalf of the Operations Hub
  • Support the maintenance of the Schemes Register
  • Support the annual indexation process.
  • Provide input into settlements systems changes i.e. sign off on the calculations and participate in UATs as an end customer
  • Support development and management of data feeds in to market reference prices processes across LCCC managed schemes
  • Ensure that the appropriate visibility of payments is provided into the Operations Hub
  • Work with DESNZ, Ofgem and other stakeholders to develop processes
  • Work with the Data Engineering & Analytics team to automate and develop processes
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • Strong ability with intermediate/advanced excel and data analysis, interpretation, and management techniques
  • Experience with a programming language (SQL or python) with a desire to learn
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to identify improvements or alternative solutions to problems
  • Self-starter: Comfortable working with limited guidance and minimal supervision
  • Pro-active problem solving
  • Strong analytical capability (both qualitative and quantitative), with understanding of data to drive improvements in processes and systems
  • Able to understand complex concepts and formula, capture key information, when required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate analysis in high quality written reports and presentations
  • Ability to explain technical scenarios/issues to non-technical audience
  • Understanding of the current UK energy policy landscape and regulations
  • Knowledge of the CfD, CM schemes and understanding of the Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS) or Hydrogen business models
  • Knowledge and understanding of business processes
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for data visualization
  • Background in delivery of regulatory driven change
  • Ability to work with multiple external stakeholders
