The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial management within the Aerospace & Defence sector, focusing on bids, negotiations, and contract administration. Qualifications

  • Proven track record in commercial business winning and/or contract management within the Aerospace & Defence sector.
  • Strong experience in bids, negotiations and contract administration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of MoD, Defence, or UK Government contracting frameworks highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Draft, negotiate and manage complex contractual terms & conditions.
  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure appropriate subcontractor flow-downs.
  • Draft and review key agreements (NDAs, Licensing Agreements, MoUs).
  • Provide commercial support to live projects, including change control & risk management.
  • Produce accurate, compliant pricing models and proposals.

Overview

We are seeking a talented Commercial Officer/Contracts Manager to join a high-performing team, supporting strategically important bids and contracts for both UK Government and Export customers.


This role will see you working as part of an Integrated Project Team, providing commercial expertise across bids, proposals, negotiations and contract management for complex and medium-value projects.


Responsibilities


  • Draft, negotiate and manage complex contractual terms & conditions

  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure appropriate subcontractor flow-downs

  • Draft and review key agreements (NDAs, Licensing Agreements, MoUs)

  • Provide commercial support to live projects, including change control & risk management

  • Produce accurate, compliant pricing models and proposals

  • Represent the Commercial function in customer and supplier meetings

  • Support bids by preparing proposals and securing internal approvals

  • Ensure compliance with commercial and business processes

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers


Qualifications


  • Proven track record in commercial business winning and/or contract management within the Aerospace & Defence sector

  • Strong experience in bids, negotiations and contract administration

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities

  • Knowledge of MoD, Defence, or UK Government contracting frameworks highly advantageous

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills


Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidate will have a valid UK SC Clearance or will be willing to undergo.
