You'll be part of a small team of three, welcoming both trade and private customers. You'll guide plant choices, give practical advice, and handle the sales process, rom recommendation to transaction. Outside of peak sales times, you'll also pitch in with general nursery tasks to keep the site running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising customers on plant selection, suitability, and care
  • Meeting and greeting on-site customers with a friendly and knowledgeable approach
  • Processing sales and using computer systems (training provided)
  • Assisting with nursery tasks as needed, such as plant handling and care
  • Working collaboratively with a close-knit team

What Do I Need?

Our client is looking for someone who's confident, customer-friendly, and genuinely passionate about plants. This role would suit someone with previous horticultural sales experience or a solid plant knowledge base who's looking to work in a more customer-facing setting.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong plant knowledge, ideally including trees
  • Great communication skills and a warm, helpful manner
  • Physical fitness for some hands-on nursery work
  • A team-player mindset with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Basic computer skills (full training provided)

Forklift or spray licences are a bonus, but not essential.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary: Competitive
  • Hours: Approx. 40 hours per week, including Saturdays (with some flexibility during the week)
  • Holidays: 23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), to be taken outside of peak periods in spring and autumn
  • Pension: Contributory pension scheme, with auto-enrolment in line with current legislation
