Overview

Sales Account Manager / Field Sales Executive with a strong background in B2B sales is required to manage key accounts and develop new business opportunities within the hydroponic and horticultural equipment and services industry. Previous hydroponic experience preferred, but not essential.

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 OTE (includes a basic salary £34,000 per annum) + Benefits. Location: Midlands. Territory: Midlands (some overnight stays will be required). Job type: Full-Time, Permanent. A Full Driving Licence is required (Company Car Provided).

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Sales Account Manager / Field Sales Executive with a strong background in B2B sales, excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. You will visit businesses in the Midlands to present and sell the company’s range of products and services to new and existing customers. You will be responsible for managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction across the customer base of hydroponic retail outlets. If you can sell, develop new business and have great client account management skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Work in the field, visiting new prospects and managing your existing accounts.

Duties
  • Sales & Business Development: Create a specific sales plan for larger customers and an overall plan for smaller customers to achieve revenue targets. Plan customer visits (target average min 4 visits per day) to interact with all customers each quarter. Identify and cultivate relationships with new customers and strategic partners. Expand sales channels / outlets and support the growth of hydroponics product lines (e.g., lighting, nutrients, growing media, systems).
  • Account Management: Maintain regular contact with existing customers to ensure sales and satisfaction leading to repeat business. Provide product training and technical support to customers as needed, including new product introductions. Manage pricing structures, payment and credit terms.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyse and report on regional market trends and competitor activity. Gather customer feedback and relay insights to marketing and product teams. Participate in trade shows, expos, and industry events to build brand awareness. Meet with non-competing OEM sales teams to share market intelligence.
  • Team Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with internal departments (marketing, logistics, technical support) to fulfil customer needs. Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to leadership.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in territory or area sales management, in hydroponics (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of hydroponic systems, equipment, and plant nutrition is a major advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently and flexibly. Some overnight stays will be required to effectively and economically manage the region.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
