Main duties of the job

Clinical Session

Participation in on call rota

Prescribing within locally agreed guidelines

Processing administration workflow, within a timely manner

Maintaining accurate clinical records

Participation in weekly clinical meetings and monthly primary healthcare team meetings

Compliance to the appraisal and revalidation process

Reviewing and adhering to practice policies and processes

Compliance to mandatory training

About us

TheMill Medical Practice is a highly regarded, friendly practice based inGodalming, Surrey. We are looking for a doctor to join our supportive team for 4-8sessions. We provide high quality clinical care to over 17,000 patients, ratingoutstanding in our last CQC inspection. We are high achievers for Quality andOutcomes Framework, this year the points we achieved equated to 98.4%. We useEMIS Web, Docman, Lexacom, AccuRx and EPS.

We area successful training practice with seven partners, and four salaried doctors. Wework in a multi-disciplinary team with three paramedics, a nurse practitioner,first contact physiotherapist, GPiMHS, pharmacist and pharmacy technician. We haveexcellent administrative, nursing and health care assistant support.

Thepractice is located in purpose built premises on the outskirts of Godalming,which we moved into seventeen years ago. We offer a wide range of enhancedservices including minor surgery, contraception and anticoagulation. We offer ahybrid model of access to our patients. We are a member of East Waverley PCN,working alongside four other surgeries.

We offer regular clinical sessions for local care homes (Broadwater Lodge,Eastlake, Guildford house, Jubilee House, La Verna and Hydon Hill). We offermedical care to pupils at Charterhouse School.

Job responsibilities

Clinical

oRoutine and emergency

oEach session equals 15 appointments, mix of telephone and online consultations, 1 visit

o The working day runs from 08.3018.30

oMonday one visit, but mandatory attendance atthe lunchtime meeting

Home visits

oEquitable share with other Doctors

oExpectation of 1 visit per session worked

Covering partners

oCoverat external sites

oEquitable share of workload when a member of theClinical Team is away

oShare of cover for doctors when they are onleave

o On call duties when requested by thepartnership

Prescribing

oChecking and signing repeat prescriptions

oPrescribing within locally agreed guidelines

Dealing with workflow queries, blood results, prescriptions,medical reports and examinations, referral letters (NHS and private) andcorrespondence(Docman) by the end of their working week

Taking an equitable share of the queries andworkload from the wider MDT team

Making professional autonomous decisions with either self-referred patients or thosereferred by another member of the MDT team

Recording and making contemporaneous I.T. basedconsultation notes to agreed standards

Management &Administration

Work alongside the clinical team to achieve QOFtargets

Participate in weekly MDT meetings on a Mondaylunchtime (12.30 14.00) to include:

oGold Standard Framework with District Nurses and Community Matron

oChildren at Risk with Health Visitors

oClinical topics

Participate in clinical audit

Teaching and training

oMedical Students

oDoctors in training

oAssist practice to maintain GP Training status

Commitment to ongoing learning andevidence-based practice

Attending training where appropriate for therole (eg. Safeguarding, CPR and Anaphylaxis)

Any work that is funded under a LES payment isundertaken in such a way to ensure that the practice will be remunerated
