Overview

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced planning engineer to be engaged on a permanent basis, with a hybrid working arrangement of 2 days onsite every 2 weeks, in Broad Oak, Frimley, Filton, Weymouth or Devonport.

What you'll be doing

• Manage safety requirements for combat systems, ensuring they align with whole-boat safety standards and are recorded in DOORS.
• Handle the breakdown of safety requirements (DSRs / 4SFRs / 5SFRs) after analysis by the Safety Team.
• Report safety requirement progress to the Senior Engineering Manager.
• Work closely with Subsystems teams, the Safety Team, and Suppliers to align on safety requirements.
• Support the Safety Team and Subsystems in comparing formal safety requirements with assumptions made by Subsystem teams when working with suppliers (Gap Analysis).

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

• Experience using DOORS
• Safety requirements management - recent experience at managing requirements up and down the V cycle - INCOSE systems engineering V diagram
• Degree or relevant level of experience at requirements management
• Defence contract experience
• Excellent communication and collaborative engagement skills

Desirable:

• Appreciation of Safety FHAs, FTAs, PSSAs and Safety Fault Schedules
