Banana Moon Colchester is recruiting for a Nursery Room Leader.

As a Nursery Practitioner Room Leader, your key responsibilities include:

  • Planning the curriculum with your team in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Providing a warm, caring atmosphere for children.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the management in leading the team.
  • Supporting the operation of nursery facilities to ensure high-quality education and care.
  • Ensuring adherence to Banana Moon policies, legislative requirements, and educational standards to achieve excellent inspection outcomes.
  • Training, mentoring, and supervising staff to promote best practices.
  • Creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can thrive and parents feel confident entrusting their children.
  • Promoting the nursery's reputation through community engagement and excellent customer service.
  • Acting as a designated co-ordinator relevant to your skills, as assigned by the Nursery Manager.

Available full-time schedules include:

  • 10-hour shifts
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Day shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime and weekend availability

Nursery Practitioner responsibilities include:

  • Safeguarding children and supervising them at all times.
  • Building strong partnerships with parents and providing feedback on children's progress.
  • Taking on key worker duties, observing and planning for children's needs, and delivering stimulating activities.
  • Tracking progress using our Parent App.
  • Adhering to nursery policies and procedures.
