Job description

Essex Police is seeking a dedicated and detail-focused Roads Policing Process Support Officer to join our Roads Policing team. This role provides essential back-office support to frontline officers ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of road traffic offences and public enquiries. Youll play a key part in helping to keep our roads safe and supporting justice outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Back-Office Support : Provide administrative and process support to frontline Roads Policing officers including reviewing traffic reports and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Offence Review : View and assess camera-captured offences to determine suitability for prosecution, escalating cases requiring further investigation or involving potential victims of crime.
  • Public Interaction : Handle enquiries from members of the public via post, telephone and email, responding in a professional, fair and empathetic manner.
  • System Proficiency : Develop and maintain working knowledge of all relevant police systems with a commitment to ongoing learning and refresher training.
  • Data Management : Accurately input and retrieve data using police systems, meeting performance targets and working effectively under pressure.
  • Case Progression : Conduct checks against process maps, complete escalation reports and identify trends in offending and victimisation.
  • Compliance and Quality : Adhere to Essex Police policies and quality standards, maintaining audit trails and escalating complex issues to protect the force from complaints and claims.
  • Legal and Policy Adherence : Complete case files in line with legal and internal requirements and provide court evidence when necessary.

Working hours

Full-time Monday to Friday (Agile Working : 60% Office / 40% Remote). Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of 28650.00.
