Job description
Retail Store Manager – 35 Hours Per Week

Established in 2012, Grape Tree currently has 185 stores in the UK.

We are looking to recruit an ambitious, confident and enthusiastic Retail Store Manager to represent our Company in our Cambridge store. You will report to the Retail Operations Manager, and your typical duties will include maintaining fast, efficient, pleasant and unrivaled customer service, ensuring the store is well stocked, clean, tidy, and that customers leave with a lasting positive impression.

Responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of stock control, including ordering goods, dealing with deliveries, and banking monies.
  • Hands‑on management of store operations.
  • Operate the till in accordance with company instructions.
  • Provide the highest possible standard of customer service.
  • Ensure shelves are well filled, stocked, and faced at all times.
  • Ensure correct pricing of products and proper stock rotation; remove goods exceeding the ‘use by’ date and advise management of any ‘best before’ issues.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety throughout the store.
  • Observe company rules at all times and report any breach of company rules witnessed.
  • Ensure all staff fully cooperate to ensure the smooth running of the store.
Essential Skills / Experience
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, ideally with experience in food retail.
  • Good cash handling skills.
  • Excellent staff supervision and organisational skills.
  • Organised and practical, ready to roll your sleeves up and get the job done.
  • Experience as a Retail Store Supervisor/Manager, Food Retail, Supermarket, Customer Service, Convenience Store, etc.

The store trades Monday to Sunday, and it is essential that the successful candidate is flexible to work within these hours.

We are looking for someone with flair and ideas, who enjoys sales and promotions and is able to hit and exceed targets.
