A logistics and inventory management company in Cambridge seeks a professional to oversee goods management, ensure compliance with BRCGS standards, and optimize inventory processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing stocks, strategic planning, and training team members, ensuring efficiency and compliance within the operations. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and control goods in/out for dry goods stores.
- Ensure production processes have all necessary stocks.
- Assist in meeting requirements of BRCGS Standard.
- Manage intake and outtake of chilled and frozen stocks.
- Ensure clear stock control documentation.
- Audit dry goods and ingredients stock control.
- Maintain traceability and accurate record-keeping.
- Assist in measuring skills gaps and training plans.
- Manage inventory, packing, and distribution.
- Predict product demand and adopt new technology.
- Implement good stock rotation to reduce waste.
- Create linear production plans based on orders.
- Develop daily and weekly defrost plans.
- Ensure appropriate structure and skill levels in teams.
- Complete projects to agreed standards and timelines.
- Solve complex problems through team collaboration.
- Engage in strategic planning and systems evaluation.
Duties:
- To manage and effectively control the goods in/goods out area/ dry goods stores.
- To ensure production processes have all stocks required for daily/weekly orders.
- To assist the Technical Team to ensure all requirements of the BRCGS Standard are met.
- To intake and outtakes of chilled and frozen stocks are managed and challenged.
- To ensure clear stock control documentation to allow the site to have clear visibility to buy and forecast.
- To ensure dry goods and ingredients stocks control is managed and audited.
- To ensure trace ability and record keeping of ingredients and finished products are maintained in an accurate and correct manner and audit of all stocks completed daily and monthly.
- To assist in measuring the skills gap, devising the training plan for your team
- to comply with all training needs, to deliver training and record the results when training is completed.
- Manage inventory, packing and distribution.
- Identify and minimise risk by predicting the demand for products and adopting new technology with no interruption to process.
- Ensure good stock rotation is implemented and reduction/elimination of all waste.
- Create a linear productions plan in line with customer orders and review actuals vs planned.
- Ensure clear defrost plans are created for customer requirements daily and weekly.
- To ensure structure and skill levels are appropriate for the business in your teams.
- To complete projects to the agreed standard and on time.
