Overview
Research Associate – We are seeking a Research Associate to support our work in executive search and intelligence-led recruitment across risk, compliance, corporate intelligence, and investigations. This is an opportunity for an early-career professional who is curious, analytical, and eager to build expertise at the intersection of research, people, and business intelligence. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in corporate intelligence or investigations but is looking for an alternative route into the industry—combining research, networking, and communication skills within a boutique recruitment and advisory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Analysis
- Map candidate pools, firms, and market segments across risk, compliance, and intelligence.
- Conduct open-source research into individuals, companies, and industry developments.
- Prepare briefing notes and short reports on trends, talent moves, and competitive landscapes.
- Candidate Sourcing & Engagement
- Assist in identifying, approaching, and tracking potential candidates for live and future mandates.
- Draft candidate profiles and maintain accurate records in our database.
- Support discreet approaches and introductions to potential candidates.
- Networking & Information Gathering
- Attend industry events, coffees, and meetings to help build our London presence.
- Cultivate and maintain contacts within relevant industries to capture insights and intelligence.
- Monitor professional forums, associations, and news sources for relevant activity.
- Content & Visibility
- Draft short news updates, commentary, or posts relevant to the industry.
- Assist in raising the firm’s profile across social media and professional networks.
- Help develop thought-leadership material to strengthen brand positioning.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
- Strong research and writing skills; able to distill complex information into clear outputs.
- A genuine interest in risk, compliance, corporate intelligence, or investigations.
- Previous internship or experience in research, recruitment, consulting, journalism, or policy desirable.
- Confident communicator, comfortable meeting new people and gathering insights.
- Curious, proactive, and resourceful—able to work independently in a discreet environment.
- Based in/near London
