Building Repairs Surveyor - Location: South West London - Rate: £82.90 per hour (umbrella)

A Housing Association in South West London is seeking an experienced Building Repairs Surveyor (Portfolio Surveyor) to join on an interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to play a key role in managing property maintenance, inspections, and contractor delivery across a diverse housing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out property inspections, diagnose defects, and specify remedial works.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure works are delivered on time, to quality standards, and within budget.
  • Deliver planned maintenance programmes and manage works to void properties.
  • Prepare basic construction drawings and draft specifications.
  • Monitor budgets, ensuring value for money and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expertise in both traditional and modern construction practices.
  • Ensure compliance with leasehold service charge consultation requirements (Section 20).
  • Assess properties using HHSRS guidance and manage risks effectively.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

  • Strong knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and schedule of rates.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, trades, and materials.
  • Demonstrable experience in housing property maintenance.
  • Experience managing planned works, voids, and contractor performance.

Desirable
  • Experience working in partnership with a social housing provider.
Qualifications
