Job summary

A health and social care organization in Northern Ireland is seeking dedicated individuals to provide care and support to Service Users. The role involves building trusting relationships, managing individual well-being plans, and encouraging Service User involvement in decision-making. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience in a health and social care setting. Flexible working hours are required, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work on a rota/shift basis including nights and weekends.
  • Education to QCF/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a related subject.
  • Proven experience in supporting people within a health and social care setting.

Job description

Provide the highest possible standard of care and support to Service Users by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach.

Responsibilities
  • Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
  • Deliver care & support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
  • To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting
  • Or a minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users
  • Experience of maintaining service user and agency records
