Rehabilitation Assistant – Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (Gloucester)

At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (GHC), we provide joined‑up mental health, physical health and learning disability services to people of all ages across Gloucestershire. We run community hospitals and support people in their own homes and other locations throughout the county. Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with other health care professionals, delivering essential clinical and personal care.
  • Ensure that service user needs are met and assist the team in maintaining high standards of care delivery.
  • Participate and assist in the delivery of care and services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service.
  • Support rehabilitation activities in line with the service’s 24/7 schedule.
Shift Pattern & Working Hours
  • Core hours 07:00 – 22:00, 4 day on / 4 day off pattern.
  • Full‑time post: 7:00‑22:00 split shift (7 – 13 and 17 – 22) on a 4 day on, 4 day off pattern.
  • Part‑time post: 8:00 – 14:00 on a 4 day on, 4 day off pattern.
  • Role is locality based; a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Qualifications, Training & Experience
  • Experience in health care preferred, but new to care applicants are welcome and will receive a structured development plan, including achieving the Care Certificate.
  • Progression from pay band 2 to pay band 3 on achievement of the Care Certification.
  • Ability to follow the Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants and Health Care Support Workers.
  • Commitment to meet Care Certificate standards; successful applicants may discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.
Development & Support
  • Direct supervision and reflective practice/training on a regular basis.
  • Opportunity to undertake a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship, including the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare.
  • A multi‑professional preceptorship programme for newly qualified staff.
  • Access to additional training and developmental opportunities up to Level 7 qualification.
