Job description

We're looking for a Registration Assistant to join our team on a zero-hour basis, providing cover at our offices in Nuneaton and Rugby.

You'll help us deliver an exceptional service during planned holiday cover and, occasionally, at short notice for sickness. The role is suited to people who are available Monday to Friday and can work flexibly. We cannot guarantee any hours and you'll be paid a month in arrears for the time you work, with an enhanced hourly rate that includes holiday pay.

As a Registration Assistant, you'll be the friendly face of our service—helping customers through some of life's most significant moments. You'll give clear advice in line with current laws and guidance, process payments, issue copy certificates and make bookings for ceremonies and registration appointments.

This is more than just a job—it's a chance to be part of a team that cares deeply about people and their stories. If you're organised, approachable, and love making a difference, we'd love to hear from you!

To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong administrative and customer service experience, supported by a good standard of education. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, along with neat, legible handwriting and the ability to work accurately with great attention to detail.

You'll be comfortable working as part of a team and equally confident using your own initiative. Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy are key. Strong planning and organisational skills will help you manage your time effectively and perform well under pressure.

Good IT skills are required, and you should be willing to attend relevant training to keep your knowledge up to date. The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
