Job summary

A recruitment consultancy is looking for a full-time Registered Manager for an EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) Residential Home located in South Ockendon. Starting salary is from £45,000. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and lead a new team dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management is preferred. The position will start in January/February 2026.

Ofsted Registered Manager / Experienced Deputy Manager

Location: South Ockendon (Essex)

Salary: Starting from £45,000

Service Type: 3 bed EBD Home

Overview

We are currently working with a new start‑up EBD home, which will be ready to take on a full‑time Registered Manager in Jan/ Feb 2026.

The Director has extensive experience working within the NHS as an Operational Lead with a focus on children and young people, Governance and Quality Assurance. They lead on referral processes to children’s residential homes, working with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of an EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) Residential Home.
  • Support, guide and lead on quality improvement and compliance to ensure the home is up to standards and engaging with Children and Young People at an expert level.
  • Achieve and document positive outcomes for children, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
  • Maintain adherence to Ofsted registration requirements and inspection standards.
  • Work as part of a new team, overseeing improvements made to the home and having input to manage this process smoothly.
Skills and Experience Required
  • An experienced Registered Manager who has worked within an EBD setting.
  • Relevant Qualification – Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or working towards it.
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to work as part of a team, lead and share experiences.
