We're hiring a passionate Registered Manager to empower young people in our therapeutic children's home in Derby. Lead a high-performing team, maintain top-tier standards, and build an environment where children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the home in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.
- Oversee care planning, statutory reviews, and progression for Looked After Children.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, child-centred care.
- Provide strong leadership to staff through supervision, coaching, development, and performance management.
- Manage home budgets, administration, reporting, and operational processes.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, well-kept home environment, ensuring full Health & Safety and Fire Safety compliance.
- Promote young people's voice, participation, and involvement in daily life and decision-making.
- Lead on audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to achieve Good/Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities, partner agencies, and the community.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Childcare (required)
- Experience within children's residential care (senior or managerial level)
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and residential childcare legislation
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
- Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills
- Commitment to child-centred, trauma-informed, and high-quality practice
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
- Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
- Understanding of trauma, attachment, SEMH needs, and therapeutic approaches
