JOB DESCRIPTION

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Registered Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of children's residential care services. This pivotal role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with Ofsted standards.

  • Leadership & Service Oversight
    • Provide strategic leadership to staff, promoting a culture of care, quality, and compliance.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations and guide Team Leaders and Managers to deliver best-in‑class services.
    • Recruit, develop, and mentor staff, creating a supportive and high‑performing workforce.
    • Embed a consistent, values‑led approach aligned with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding protocols.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Maintain full compliance with Ofsted standards and statutory requirements.
    • Lead inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
    • Develop policies and frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Care Planning & Young People's Outcomes
    • Support individualised care plans that promote well‑being, independence, and education.
    • Champion access to education, therapy, recreation, and vocational pathways for all young people.
    • Ensure a nurturing and inclusive living environment that reflects a child‑first ethos.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
  • 5+ years of experience in children's residential care
  • At least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to obtain it)
  • In‑depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and children's care standards
  • A passion for making a real, positive difference in young people's lives
  • Strong relationships and council knowledge across South London and surrounding areas
