Job Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Field Sales Executive will take full commercial ownership of our precision measurement and metrology solutions across the M62 corridor. This autonomous, field-based role focuses on outbound business development, territory growth, and closing new machine sales, upgrades and service contracts. You will work closely with the MD and technical specialists to deliver end-to-end support and exceed revenue targets.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect, qualify and generate new business in the engineering and manufacturing sectors
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings, site surveys and product demonstrations across your territory
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms and service agreements to achieve or exceed annual targets
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and opportunity pipeline
  • Collaborate with technical teams to tailor solutions and deliver proposals
  • Travel independently to customer sites and lead sales meetings in regional hubs
  • Support channel partners and agents with joint calls and training
  • Produce monthly sales activity and revenue reports for the Managing Director
  • Attend industry exhibitions, open houses and overseas factory visits as required
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve processes, marketing and product development
  • Identify high-potential accounts and build sustainable relationships for long-term growth
Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • 2+ years' in sales, business development or outbound prospecting experience
  • Demonstrable hunter mentality with cold-calling and territory-building success
  • Experience selling technical solutions into engineering or manufacturing clients
  • Familiarity with precision measurement or metrology products
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and able to work independently under broad direction
  • Commercially minded with excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Resilient, persistent and comfortable working in a truly field-based environment
  • Demonstrate high levels of ownership and professionalism in every customer interaction
  • Drive to achieve and exceed sales targets while upholding company standards
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the M62 corridor and occasionally overseas
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary of £30,000-£35,000 per annum
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE) of £60,000-£70,000 with uncapped commission
  • Commission tiers at 3%, 4% and 5% of all sales revenue you generate
  • Company car or car allowance plus full travel and accommodation expenses
