JOB CLASSIFICATION: Professional, Certificated
Educational Level: Master’s Degree or equivalent specialized graduate-level training in literacy/reading
Certification or Licensure: Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate. Reading Specialist Endorsement is strongly preferred
Experience Desired: 5 years of successful teaching experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience in literacy coaching, curriculum development, or delivering professional development.
Specialized Knowledge: Required expertise in evidence-based literacy practices (Science of Reading) including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

The Regional Literacy Coach’s primary role is to lead and support systemic efforts to improve foundational literacy across ESU 7's constituent districts.
The essential functions of this position include: (1) regular, dependable attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified technology expectations, skills, and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and, (3) the ability to perform the following identified physical requirements.
