Regional Compliance and Data Privacy Manager

Location: London, Basingstoke or Poole as a base office with Hybrid Working

Contract: Permanent - Salaried

Salary: £60,000

As a Regional Compliance & Data Privacy Manager you’ll play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance and data protection across the UK region while supporting global compliance initiatives. Reporting to the Group Legal Director, Business Ethics & Compliance, this position provides expert guidance, promotes awareness, and manages compliance risks within the Merlin Group.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Act as the UK point of contact for data protection and compliance matters, including liaison with the local supervisory authority.
  • Drive alignment with global data protection strategy and maintain compliance frameworks.
  • Advise stakeholders on compliance queries, new legislation, and operational requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, DPIAs, TIAs, LIAs, and vendor due diligence.
  • Maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and compliance risk registers.
  • Develop and deliver compliance policies, training, and awareness programs.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates.
  • Manage data subject rights requests and support reporting on risks, breaches, and compliance performance.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior data protection and compliance role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and global data protection laws.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks and risk management.
  • Legal qualifications preferred; understanding of technology and information security essential.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet statutory deadlines.
