Job description

Simpson Judge is a specialist recruitment agency founded in 2013, with a strong focus on legal recruitment across the UK and international markets. We pride ourselves on a personalized, collaborative approach to recruitment, building long‑term relationships with clients and candidates to deliver exceptional results.

Our team operates from modern offices in Preston, Manchester, and London, fostering a dynamic, supportive environment that values integrity, excellence, and dedication. We're committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and empowering our people to thrive in a fast‑paced industry.

Overview

We are expanding our Manchester team and seeking a motivated Recruiter to focus on the US market. This role is ideal for candidates at any level—from entry‑level recruiters starting their career to experienced managers looking to lead and grow a desk. You'll handle full 360‑degree recruitment for US‑based roles in our core sectors, particularly Legal, with flexibility to cover professional services.

Based in our Manchester office, this position requires office‑based working to support collaboration and team dynamics. Working hours are aligned with US time zones: 11am‑7pm Monday to Thursday, and 10am‑6pm on Fridays (37.5‑hour week).

This is an opportunity to join a growing agency where you'll run your own market, make commercial decisions, and contribute to our international expansion. Entry‑level candidates will receive comprehensive training through our Recruiter 360 Training Academy, while managers can develop teams and advance into leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes for US clients, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing candidates in Legal and professional services roles.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with US‑based clients and candidates, understanding their needs to provide tailored solutions.
  • Develop your own desk in the US market, identifying new business opportunities through proactive networking, calls, and market research.
  • Post job adverts, manage candidate pipelines via our CRM system, and ensure compliance with US and UK recruitment standards.
  • Collaborate with the wider team on cross‑sector placements and share market insights to drive agency growth.
  • For manager‑level roles: Mentor junior recruiters, oversee team performance, and contribute to strategy for US market expansion.
  • Track and report on key metrics, such as placements, client satisfaction, and revenue generation.
Requirements
  • Experience in recruitment, preferably in Legal or professional services; open to candidates from other sectors with transferable skills (essential for manager level; desirable for entry level).
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities, with the resilience to thrive in a target‑driven environment.
  • Proactive mindset, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results.
  • For entry‑level: Enthusiasm for recruitment and a willingness to learn; no prior experience required, but a degree or relevant qualifications are advantageous.
  • For manager‑level: Proven track record in leading teams, business development, and achieving recruitment targets.
Benefits and Perks
  • Market‑leading holiday allowance, plus Christmas shutdown.
  • Company pension contributions and independent financial advice.
  • Flexible perks including health and wellness programs, and opportunities for international travel.
  • Ongoing training and development via our Recruiter 360 Academy, with clear progression paths and personalized plans.
  • Incentives such as weekly/monthly vouchers, team lunches, awards evenings (up to £2,000 in vouchers and extra holiday), fully expensed trips (e.g., to Ibiza), and social events like charity fundraisers and football tournaments.
  • Modern office environment with breakout areas, latest technology, and a collaborative culture that supports work‑life balance.
