Overview

We are recruiting for a Recovery Practitioner who shares our ambition and vision to deliver theBest of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff. We are recruiting for qualified staff, qualified staff with limited theatre experience or existing theatre staff who want to expand their current practice to join our Recovery team.

The post holder will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and delivering effective, high quality perioperative care for the surgical patient, following a client-centred model of practice and ensuring area of work runs smoothly and efficiently. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of services users and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.

You will be an enthusiastic team player wishing to develop your skills in this important area. Whilst experience in this area is desirable we also welcome applications from newly qualified practitioners or those with experience elsewhere. Peri-operative Medicine is committed to building a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic team to help develop our services and achieve the Medway Hospital vision for the future.

Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver high quality perioperative care for the surgical patient in a client-centred model of practice.
  • Maintain safety and wellbeing of service users and promote dignity and human rights through person-centred care principles.
  • Manage perioperative patients and undertake duties in Pre-operative Care Unit.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence and negotiate with others.
  • Deal with distressed relatives, care of terminally ill and other challenging situations.
  • Contribute to audit and research-based nursing practice.
