We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Dart Vale veterinary Group

Location: Dart Vale Veterinary Group - primarily Totnes but will need to cover at branch sites

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 8 hours per day / 40 hour week

Shift Pattern: Early shift - 07:30am to 04:00pm / late shift - 10:30am to 07:00pm. 1:4 Saturday (time off in lieu)

About the role

Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments and balancing the till at end of day
  • Helping administrator with collection of monies and managing the in house Healthy Pet Club
  • And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice
What we’re looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist
  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
