Real Estate Associate | International Law Firm | City of London

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Real Estate Associate to join a leading international law firm, in the City of London. This leading international law firm is home to over 1,400 people, including 210+ partners, across eight offices in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. They advise clients in over 100 countries and are recognised for delivering innovative, client-focused solutions. The London Real Estate team is 40-strong, comprising eight partners and over 20 associates, and is highly regarded for its depth of experience and international reach. The team advises a wide range of clients, including:

  • Major property companies and institutional investors
  • Banks and hotel groups
  • Public sector organisations and corporate occupiers

The team handles a variety of matters, including:

  • Investment acquisitions and disposals, financings, and refinancings
  • Development projects, including planning and environmental advice
  • Sale and leasebacks and general commercial real estate management
  • Cross-practice collaboration with finance, tax, corporate, and construction teams
Responsibilities
  • As a Real Estate Associate, you will be given early responsibility and the chance to lead your own matters, including complex transactions and development projects.
  • You will have opportunities to participate in business development initiatives, client engagement, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Analyse and advise on commercial real estate risks
  • Draft and prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured legal documentation
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical solutions for clients
  • Liaise directly with clients, developing trusted relationships
  • Manage transactions and lead matters with minimal supervision
  • Contribute to internal and external knowledge-sharing, including legal articles
  • Support business development and client events, including seminars and networking
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor with strong commercial real estate experience
  • Experience in acquisitions, disposals, asset management, and ideally development projects
  • Exposure to complex landlord & tenant and investment work
  • Strong academic and professional qualifications
  • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Organised and able to manage own workload while mentoring junior team members
  • Ambitious, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and professional presence
