Job description
Overview

The busy Plain Film Department at NNUH, the Community Diagnostic Centre, and Cromer Hospital performs a wide range of procedures, supporting specialist orthopaedic clinics, a busy theatre schedule, dental imaging, and Fluoroscopy. The Cardiac Cath Labs, a collaborative hub of five labs, are the heart of our cardiac care. From diagnostic angiograms to pacemaker implantation and primary percutaneous coronary interventions. The successful applicant will be an integral part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team, working alongside doctors, nurses, physiologists, ODPs, and Cath Lab Practitioners, a program pioneered at the NNUH.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates to apply for a Band 5-6 training post in Plain Film and the Cardiac Cath Labs. The training programme will take around 6 months in both areas, with support from a mentor to achieve Band 6 competencies. Upon successful completion of the training packages and inclusion on the Cath lab on-call roster, individuals will be awarded Band 6. This dual-role position involves delivering high-quality imaging, ensuring clinical safety, and upholding excellent patient care. Flexibility is essential, with radiographers expected to provide 24/7 patient care, manage workflow, and take on non-clinical responsibilities such as appraisals, governance, coaching, and incident investigation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality imaging in Plain Film and Cardiac Cath Labs.
  • Deliver professional, safe, compassionate healthcare in a safe clinical environment and practice without direct supervision of a clinician.
  • Support 24/7 patient care, manage workflow, and participate in non-clinical duties (appraisals, governance, coaching, incident investigation).
  • Complete a training programme (~6 months in each area) with mentorship to achieve Band 6 competencies.
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, physiologists, ODPs, and Cath Lab Practitioners.
  • Promote good relationships with other departments, hospital staff, patients and the public.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Band 5-6 training post with the aim to achieve Band 6 competencies on successful completion.
  • Attainment of Band 6 competencies and inclusion on Cath lab on-call roster.
  • Commitment to professional development, study days, and continued professional development (CPD) in line with departmental needs.
  • Adherence to NNUH PRIDE values: People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.

We operate a 7 day working week which includes rostering at nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. We offer flexible working opportunities as well.
