Quantity Surveyor

Duration: Contract till 30 March 2026

Location: Peterborough location - onsite 5 days per week - requirement to travel

Are you ready to take ownership of commercial and financial aspects of major projects? We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll manage all financial and contractual elements of construction projects, providing expert advice and support throughout the project life cycle. You'll work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and contractors to drive efficiency and maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support to Project Managers, managing contractual relationships and procurement.
• Contract Management: Administer multiple contracts within your portfolio, ensuring clarity and compliance.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor spend-to-date and forecast costs in line with governance and contract terms.
• Risk Management: Support risk identification and maintain the Risk Register.
• Tender Evaluation: Assist in evaluating and negotiating tenders, offering professional advice.
• Dispute Resolution: Lead resolution efforts and provide expert guidance.
• Reporting: Keep stakeholders informed of all commercial issues and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Mentor junior QS team members and support their development.
• Manage compensation events and contractor account settlements.

Requirements

• Heavy utilities experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of C4 contracts and NEC4 contract administration.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in large‑scale infrastructure or utilities projects.
• RICS qualification preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and financial management.
• Skilled in risk assessment, dispute resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work collaboratively and identify efficiencies throughout the project life cycle.
• Proficient in corporate systems and documentation standards.
