About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Solicitor (or other regulated individual) to join our welcoming and inclusive Quality & Risk team.

You’ll act as an Adviser to the firm, offering a first-tier advice service on all aspects of professional conduct including regulatory compliance, risk management, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation and conflicts management.

This fantastic opportunity can be based in our Bristol or Bath office, with travel to our other offices when required.

In addition, day to day, you can expect your responsibilities to include :

  • Working closely with the Quality & Risk team, the COLP and COFA to help analyse the causes of complaints, claims and compliance breaches and assist with remedial action where appropriate
  • Providing supervision and advice on escalations from the centralised Onboarding team
  • Assisting with drafting and maintenance of team guidance, policies, processes and precedents
  • Supporting with internal training regarding best practice, legislation changes and regulatory compliance
  • Liaising with our regulator, alongside relevant colleagues
  • Keeping up to date with professional, legal and best practice developments

Your ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with our fee-earning teams will play a key role in delivering exceptional client service and driving successful outcomes, along with the following experience and attributes :

  • Professional, confident adviser with significant relevant experience and the ability to analyse facts logically, explain complex compliance, best practice, and risk issues clearly in a way that suits the audience
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience, gained working in a similar role
  • Good understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory regimes, including : The SRA HandbookAnti-Money Laundering legislationBribery and Data Protection legislation
  • Strong planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate with, influence and interact appropriately and constructively with people at all levels of the business
  • A team player, who works collaboratively with the team and others
