Job Title: Quality Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for GBS label manufacturing operations at the Stow and Malvern plants, as well as remote sales offices. Serving as the ISO 9001 Management Representative, this role ensures that all quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations are met consistently. The Quality Manager oversees audits, document control, record retention, calibration programs, and training on quality-related processes while coordinating corrective and preventive actions to address issues effectively. In a hands-on capacity, the Quality Manager engages daily with the production floor-performing and coordinating quality sign-offs at press, rewind (primary responsibility), and shipping-while partnering with supervisors and operators to identify root causes, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance. This position also manages customer complaints, interfaces directly with customers and suppliers on quality matters, and supports leadership through the preparation of quality reports, management review activities, and participation in financial/operational meetings. By combining system-level oversight with daily shop-floor involvement, the Quality Manager plays a key role in driving product quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across all label operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as ISO 9001 Management Representative, ensuring the Quality/Business System is established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Promote the company's Quality Mission and business objectives through continuous improvement initiatives specific to label operations.
  • Lead Management Review Meetings for label operations, preparing reports and ensuring follow-up on key actions.
  • Provide Quality System training to employees at both Stow and Malvern plants, as well as remote sales offices.
  • Audits & Compliance
  • Lead and coordinate all external audits (customer and surveillance) for Stow and Malvern label operations, including preparation, execution, and corrective follow-up.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee internal audits across Stow, Malvern, and all remote sales office locations; ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Manage document control, record retention schedules, and calibration programs for both Stow and Malvern sites.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer-specific standards, and industry regulatory requirements.

Production & Operations Support

  • Partner with production teams to perform quality sign-offs at press, rewind (primary responsibility), and shipping.
  • Lead root cause analysis of internal and external issues for label operations; implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Communicate quality and process changes to production staff and gather samples upon request.
  • Corrective, Preventive, & Continuous Improvement
  • Oversee customer complaints, nonconformances, corrective/preventive actions, and employee suggestions across all locations.
  • Track, analyze, and present monthly quality performance metrics and trends to management.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts (Lean, Six Sigma, waste reduction, efficiency gains) within label operations.

Customer & Supplier Interface

  • Act as primary contact for customers regarding audits, complaints, product inspections, and quality matters.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and corrective action follow-up to ensure incoming material quality for label production.
  • Travel as required to customer sites for audits, troubleshooting, and inspections.

Reporting & Strategic Planning

  • Prepare and distribute monthly reports on key quality indicators, including complaints, CAPA, audit results, and cost of quality.
  • Develop and deliver training on all quality-related processes, ensuring training records are properly documented, maintained, and audit-ready.
  • Participate in operational and financial meetings to align label operations quality goals with business performance.
  • Contribute to long-term quality strategy, certifications, and improvement projects specific to label operations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead or support higher-level quality and operational projects as assigned.
  • Mentor and develop quality staff at Stow and Malvern while cross-training employees in auditing and problem-solving tools.
  • Ensure risk management and change control practices are embedded in label operations processes.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management principles with a minimum of 3 years' experience performing a quality role in a manufacturing operation.
  • Experience in the Printing Industry but not required

Required Skills
