Job description
The Role

As factory Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities across the site, ensuring that products are manufactured to agreed specifications and standards. You'll lead the quality team, support production in maintaining compliance, and act as a key point of contact for internal teams and external audits. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will deputise as required and play a central role in maintaining and improving site standards.

  • Experience working with the major retailers is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and audit standards.
  • Confident leader with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily quality checks and ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer specifications.
  • Support the Technical Manager in maintaining site-wide food safety and quality systems.
  • Manage and investigate non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits (e.g. M&S, ASDA, ALDI, Pret-a-manger, BRC, GlobalGap, ASC/MSC).
  • Maintain and update quality documentation including HACCP, CCPs, GMP, and traceability records.
  • Collaborate with Production, Technical, and NPD teams to support product launches and process improvements.
  • Ensure labelling and traceability compliance across all production lines.
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager when required, including attending meetings and representing the department.
  • Monitor and report on quality KPIs and trends to support decision-making.
