Job summary

A busy manufacturing company in Horsham St. Faith is seeking a Quality Inspector/Lead to ensure compliance with quality standards and lead a quality control team. The role involves conducting inspections, maintaining quality records, and collaborating with various teams to uphold quality objectives. Essential qualifications include experience in quality management and knowledge of ISO standards. This position offers a full-time contract with 39 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in quality management within the manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and BS EN requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey the requirements of the standards to multi-functional teams.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, and root‑cause analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of materials and processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and update quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with technical, production, and engineering teams.

Reporting to: Operations Director

Hours: 39 hours per week

Mon - Thurs: 08:30 - 17:00

Fri: 08:30 - 16:00

Contract Personnel are working alongside a busy manufacturing business who are looking for a Quality Inspector/Lead to join their growing team. The Quality Lead will work with Team Leaders to ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality objectives.

Key tasks and responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards such as ISO 9001, BS EN standards, Scope of PS24 Certification, CE markings, etc.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Develop, maintain, and update quality documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Ensure non-conforming raw materials are isolated from stock and issues resolved.
  • Collaborate with technical, production, and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are embedded in daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and generate quality metrics and performance reports, presenting these to the senior management team.
