Job description
Quality & Compliance Manager

Are you looking to take the next step in your Quality Assurance career within the food supply chain sector?

We are seeking a Quality & Compliance Manager to join a leading international poultry organisation, supplying high-quality, safe, and sustainable products to major UK and European retail and foodservice partners.

Unlike factory-based quality roles, this position sits within the supply chain operations team. You will be based in the office, working closely with 3PL warehouses, third party logistics partners, the company's own production sites abroad, and UK customers to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance are maintained throughout the entire supply chain.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Officer, Food Technologist, Compliance Coordinator, or Supplier Technologist who is ready to step into a broader, more strategic quality role gaining exposure across international production, logistics, and customer quality management.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems, ensuring compliance with both UK regulations and global standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and improving the food safety and quality management system across UK operations.
  • Supporting the development of key policies and procedures, including complaints handling, supplier management, traceability & recall, and staff training.
  • Acting as a point of contact for product quality and safety matters, liaising with customers, suppliers, and international HQ teams.
  • Managing product complaints and conducting root-cause investigations.
  • Leading supplier audits (warehouses, laboratories, storage partners) and ensuring third-party manufacturers meet required standards.
  • Organising and supervising laboratory testing, inspections, and product disposals.
  • Engaging with UK authorities on compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Advising internal teams on quality, food safety, and compliance best practices.
About You

We are looking for someone who is motivated, detail-focused, and passionate about food quality. You should bring:

  • A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Technical, or Compliance within the food industry (poultry or ready-to-eat / convenience food is ideal).
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, and UK / EU food safety legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across the supply chain.
  • Confidence to work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
  • Flexibility to travel for audits, inspections, and supplier visits.

This is a unique chance to step into a role that will give you broad exposure across the international poultry supply chain while working closely with major UK retailers and foodservice customers. You will gain hands‑on experience in supplier management, audits, and regulatory engagement while being supported by an international technical and quality team.

If you are ambitious, keen to grow, and passionate about ensuring the highest standards of food safety, this role will provide the career progression and international exposure you are looking for.

Apply today to take your next step as a Junior Quality Manager in the food industry.

Pay: £45,000 – £48,000 (depends on experience, negotiable)
