Overview

Together Our Community (TOC) is a Chichester based charity supporting young adults with learning disabilities to take up supported work and volunteering placements in the local community. We are looking for a qualified Catering Teacher/Trainer to deliver engaging, hands-on training to the young people, helping them build essential life skills alongside the development of vocational skills in hospitality and catering.

Location: Chichester Town Centre, PO19 1AR

Details

Pay: £30 per hour

Hours: 8 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year

Contract Type: Freelance/Self Employed

About the Role

You will design and deliver inclusive catering training sessions over the course of a week that inspire confidence, independence, and creativity in our Chichester town commercial kitchen. Your teaching/training will help young people develop practical cooking skills, food hygiene awareness, and a sense of achievement – giving them the best opportunity to take up placements in the hospitality and catering workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver tailored catering training sessions for young people with learning disabilities
  • Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Promote independence and vocational skills through practical catering activities
  • Collaborate with our leadership team and support staff
  • Monitor the young people's progress to inform progress reports and provide regular constructive feedback
Skills & Qualifications
  • A qualified Food Catering/Technology Teacher — preferred to have QTS/QTLS or equivalent
  • Relevant vocational experience/qualifications in Food and Nutrition, Food Hygiene, Catering, Health and Safety, Hospitality
  • Confident delivering engaging, hands-on training that develops both life skills and subject vocational knowledge
  • A team player passionate about inclusion and the potential of young people to progress and contribute to the hospitality and catering workforce
