Overview

QA Manager – Malton

Working days: Monday to Friday. Salary: £40,000 - £45,000.

Pro-Pak Foods is a major supplier of delicious ready meals to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets and convenience stores. Our company, based in Malton, North Yorkshire, has built an excellent reputation over the last 25 years. Today, our chefs, working in partnership with our customers, have created a menu of more than 200 quality meals.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a QA Manager to join our ambitious technical team in Malton.

As our new QA Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our quality assurance team of 10 colleagues. Your remit will include monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems. You will be responsible for understanding and applying all relevant standards for both Pro-Pak and our customers, ensuring legal requirements are consistently achieved and maintained. This role is key to driving improved GMP standards and audit results across our site. You will influence and work collaboratively with the operational teams and agree solutions together. Reporting to our Head of Technical, you will be accountable for the daily management and efficient running of our QA department and all related quality control functions, ensuring that standards are met and relationships are maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and control all aspects of the quality management system relevant to all QA activities and functions, and ensure all customer specific requirements are adhered to and maintained

  • Ensure all documentation is maintained, filed, scanned, stored and archived accordingly

  • Assist in the formulation of quality attribute sheets and supporting documents for all new product launches

  • Assist with conducting GMP audits and pro-actively liaise with production management on any related issues

  • Conduct complaint investigations and formulate responses with technical team

  • Participate in customer visits and third party audits

  • Management of supplier non-conformances and effective close outs

  • Ensure damaged equipment is not used and any defects are reported to engineers immediately

  • Manage ‘Q’ stock with effective close out, action management from start to end

  • Manage taste panels via QA team, with a schedule management and action comments/scores as needed

  • Internal audit champion – schedule trained individuals, manage schedule, follow up on any NCR raised and trend details

  • Supplier visits if non-conformance records show trends occurring
