Job summary

Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership is a large general practice in Wiltshire. We are seeking a Quality Assurance administrator to join our team.

This is a non-clinical administrative role, working for 22.5 hours a week, ideally over 3 days, with flexibility on working days between Monday and Friday.

This role plays a key part in optimising the health of our patients with chronic and life‑long conditions as well as contributing to the health of our wider population. You will cover named medical conditions, health screening and immunisations rotating each year. You will work among a great team of professionals in a flexible environment and have opportunities to develop.

The successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Check. Failing to declare a conviction, caution or pending police action could disqualify the applicant for employment.

Responsibilities
  • Summarise contents of paper medical records and add relevant information to the patient's electronic record.
  • Assist with processing clinical correspondence (e.g., from hospitals), adding relevant information to the patient record and flagging any actions to the appropriate clinician.
  • Ensure optimal uptake of health promotion initiatives, such as cardiovascular health screening and immunisations.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) by managing continuous call, recall, and monitoring processes. This includes managing and maintaining long‑term conditions registers and inviting patients for annual reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date QOF registers, undertake calls and recalls services, monitor progress toward targets, and run searches to identify coding errors.
  • Provide enhanced services administration: calls and recalls, monitor enhanced service targets, ensure monthly and quarterly data returns are accurate and timely.
  • Receive, process, clinically code, and save relevant medical information from clinical correspondence; pass any arising actions to the appropriate clinician.
  • Summarise newly registered patients’ paper records, review the full record, produce an accurate summary of past medical history, and code relevant information into the electronic record.
  • Carry out any duties reasonably requested by Partners or Practice Management.
Qualifications
  • Good standard of general education.
  • GCSE Mathematics C or above (or equivalent).
  • GCSE English C or above (or equivalent).
Essential Experience
  • Practical experience of computerised recording systems.
Desirable Experience
  • Work in a medical/clinical field, with necessary clinical training.
  • Experience of complex administration and record keeping in a primary care setting.
  • Experience of working within General Practice.
  • Experience of using own initiative.
Desirable Qualifications
  • CLAIT/ECDL qualification.
