Overview

We’re looking for a Python Engineer with 4–5 years’ commercial experience to join an exciting EdTech start-up through a consultancy engagement. This is a hands-on build role where you’ll work closely with Head of Tech helping to drive key product features while keeping exposure to the end client limited.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Head of Tech to drive key product features and build a scalable backend solution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

Ensure high quality code, performance, and maintainability of production systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI (Python).
• Proficiency in working with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
