A leading healthcare organization in England is seeking a Nurse Assessor to handle PUPOC reviews for NHS Continuing Healthcare. As a registered nurse experienced in PUPOC Reviews for the All Age Continuing Care Team, you will join a busy team of nurses who play a pivotal role in the Retrospective Review process.
Knowledge and understanding of the current national and local policy/framework guidance relating to NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care is essential.

The Nurse Assessor will be an expert in all matters relating to PUPOC reviews for individuals making a retrospective claim for NHS Continuing Healthcare, in line with the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care, revised July 2022. The Nurse Assessor will promote best practice and provide professional advice to the All Age Continuing Care Team and other stakeholders, promoting good relationships and liaising with colleagues from other disciplines both internally and externally to the Integrated Care Board (ICB). Assessments are completed face to face.
The post holder will be required to follow due process for determining eligibility for NHS CHC for retrospective cases.
As part of the review process, the Nurse Assessor will review retrospective eligibility for NHS CHC, to ensure that all care needs are met safely and effectively. You will monitor and influence the quality of care that is provided to patients; drawing on previous skills and knowledge to improve the patient experience of care. You will provide professional advice to patients, carers and multi-agency colleagues, including signposting to appropriate services and resources.
The Nurse Assessor will contribute to the safeguarding adults from abuse process (SAFA) by undertaking reviews of individuals who have been identified as at risk of harm; as part of this process you will have a role in the monitoring and reviewing of placements/packages of care.

Working closely with partner organisations, the ICB's staff design, plan and commission health services for more than half a million people and monitor the quality and effectiveness of those services.
We are recruiting to one full time position (37.5 hours per week).
In addition to the basic salary, these posts attract a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and maximum payment per annum (pro rata where applicable) in line with Agenda for Change.
The posts are based at our Forum site and is a face to face / office based role. The post-holder will need to be able to travel between all sites.
