Public Procurement Buyer

About the Role

As a Public Procurement Buyer, you'll lead and develop assigned business areas to increase spend under management and deliver best-in-class procurement services. You'll manage end-to-end procurement activities, implement supplier and member contracts, and apply category-level expertise to drive continuous improvement and commercial success.

You'll play a pivotal role in building strategic relationships, delivering value to the members, and supporting the growth of our brand across the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of category strategies
  • Manage sourcing projects including mini competitions, frameworks, and dynamic markets
  • Formalise contract documentation and assist members in defining core requirements
  • Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and resolve disputes
  • Monitor and maintain commercial and operational performance
  • Support marketing and communication plans
  • Promote the business corporate values and ESG commitments
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-functional learning

Qualifications & Experience
  • CIPS Level 4 or relevant degree (or equivalent sector experience)
  • Proven experience in large-scale procurement activities
  • Advanced Excel skills (including VBA, Pivot Tables, and Data Analysis)
  • Experience with e-tendering platforms and supplier management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
  • Full driving licence desirable
