A regional healthcare provider in Greater London is seeking a full-time Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join their team. This role involves providing high-volume low-intensity cognitive-behavioral therapy interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The candidate will work a minimum of 25 hours of clinical contact weekly, engage with diverse communities, and support the delivery of evidence-based psychological services. This position offers development opportunities in community-oriented programs.
Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies is looking to recruit a full‑time, enthusiastic and motivated Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our dynamic and innovative service. Based in East London we have delivered psychological therapy services to general practice and the local community for over 30 years. We are a stepped‑care service offering evidence‑based interventions at Steps 2 and 3.
Our team consists of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Cognitive Behaviour Therapists and Clinical & Counselling Psychologists, and we actively encourage a variety of theoretical interests. Specialist areas of development include Long‑Term Conditions, Eating Disorders and Perinatal health.
The post‑holder will work within the IAPT service providing high‑volume low‑intensity interventions. These include a range of cognitive‑behavioural therapy (CBT)‑based self‑management programmes for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
The role requires working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups, utilising interpreters when necessary, and committing to equal opportunities. Responsibilities also involve assessment, triage, treatment and mental‑health promotion activities within primary care and community settings.
Work is expected to be carried out in a stepped‑care, high‑volume environment, maintaining a minimum of 25 hours’ clinical contact per week and managing a significant number of active cases concurrently. Low‑intensity workers also provide information on common pharmacological treatments and support patients in making decisions that optimise the use of such treatments.
The post offers the opportunity to develop a specialist clinical expertise and take a lead on developing and delivering a large group psycho‑educational community‑based psychological wellbeing workshop or life‑skills programme, thus increasing access to evidence‑based interventions across Tower Hamlets’ community. Development opportunities include co‑facilitating psycho‑educational group programmes in HI‑CBT and Psychology and Health teams.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve.
