Job Title: Project Procurement Lead – Operations and Production Category

Let me tell you about the role

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate in-country procurement delivery for maintenance, production, operations engineering and construction, and MRO.
  • Support interfaces between the in-country based team, local Iraqi partners, and remote category teams to ensure alignment to business priorities.
  • Develop and implement the Operations & Productions Procurement Category strategy for the Iraq Project.
  • Maximise value of third-party spend, manage risks, and deliver innovative procurement solutions.
  • Work closely with partners to establish and improve contracting and procurement systems, processes, and resources.
  • Deliver value through effective sourcing activity within the boundaries of relevant laws, regulations, and budgets.
  • Support development of the Contracts and Procurement Plan (CPP).
  • Conduct due diligence, secure required approvals, and execute sourcing activities including bid preparation, evaluation, and recommendations.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage post-award administration, and ensure compliance with timelines and renewals.
  • Support supplier performance management and compliance obligations.
  • Promote local content integration and supplier development opportunities.
  • Interface with local suppliers and partners to support the procurement function and foster collaboration.
What you will need to be successful
Qualifications & Experience
  • University degree in Procurement, Engineering, Business, or another relevant discipline.
  • CIPS professional chartership (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable track record in Operations and Production Procurement, ideally in oil and gas with large capex or onshore scopes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of PSCM contracting, supplier management, and project execution.
  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector and working in Iraq or supporting Iraq-based businesses.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple disciplines and geographies.
  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure, align senior stakeholders, and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in multi-stakeholder, multicultural environments.
