About the Opportunity - PSA Nuclear Safety Case Engineer (Multiple Locations)

From next-generation systems and emerging reactor technologies like SMRs to ensuring the safe operation of existing nuclear facilities, we cover the full spectrum of the nuclear lifecycle.

The role of a PSA Nuclear Safety Case Engineer is pivotal. Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) forms the backbone of the safety case, demonstrating that risks are maintained at acceptably low levels. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing and maintaining nuclear reactors and facilities, optimizing safety, and reducing risks. Your work will involve crafting and delivering PSA models, analyzing data, supporting key decisions on facility design and operations, and presenting your findings through top-tier technical reports.

The key responsibilities for this role are:
  • Delivering technical work to support demonstrating that a facility or system can be operated safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and develop solutions.
  • Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators, and other third parties.
  • Helping to maintain the technical capability and knowledge of the team and mentoring junior members as appropriate.
Qualifications - External
  • A degree (or equivalent demonstrable experience) in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience in executing project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Chartered Member of a professional institute (or working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status) with relevant professional body membership.
