Projects Compliance Manager

Location: Northampton, NN4 7SG

Hours of work: 40

We are looking for a Projects Compliance Manager to support the ISS Projects Delivery Team, ensuring health, safety, quality, statutory and legislative compliance across a portfolio of small to medium‑sized building projects.

This role is central to safeguarding safe and compliant delivery, influencing best practice across the team, and supporting a robust compliance culture throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Description

You will work collaboratively with the projects team, acting as a subject matter expert for HSEQ compliance, offering guidance, coaching and oversight of documentation, processes and safe systems of work.

Typical projects include building refurbishments, lift replacements, new control systems, structural works, and decorative/mechanical upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide competent HSEQ advice, coaching and mentoring to the Projects and OMAC teams
  • Maintain and monitor documentation and compliance across construction and project activities
  • Implement and support an internal audit programme and associated corrective actions
  • Promote and ensure adherence to the ISS Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Collate, analyse and communicate HSEQ performance data
  • Support implementation of ISS Safe Choice behaviours
  • Oversee incident management processes for ISS and subcontractors
  • Conduct site visits to maintain visibility of compliance and service delivery performance
  • Collaborate closely with ISS central HSEQ functions and improve consistency of practice across the account
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • Experienced in construction or project compliance, ideally within FM or the built environment
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, including Contractor and Principal Designer roles
  • Background in supporting or auditing project documentation and safe systems of work
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Safety equivalent (minimum), NVQ Level 5 or above desirable
  • Internal auditor or similar quality‑related qualification
  • Understanding of statutory and legislative controls across project delivery
  • Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, temporary works compliance and environmental considerations
  • Strong communicator with confident stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence, support and guide project teams on best practice
