About The Role

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Project Training Coordinator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar-in-Cleveland on Teesside.

The Project Training Coordinator will prepare, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and document Heath, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) training activities on the project. They will ensure project personnel have the necessary training qualifications and coordinate and complete administration of learning and development activities.

Balfour Beatty have been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

What you'll be doing
  • Mapping out training plans and schedules, designing and developing training programs (outsourced or in-house) for the project.
  • Conduct project-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Identify and respond to development requirements for employees and advise functional managers on individual training plans accordingly.
  • Control and manage the Training Planner & Training Matrix ensuring training is always up to date, relevant and meeting organisational and site requirements.
  • Raise Purchase Orders for vendors and venues in a timely manner, ensuring PO's are in place prior to the scheduled sessions and manage the invoicing process.
  • Develop and implement project functional strategies and produce best practice processes, tools and techniques, in line with all site requirements.
  • Support onboarding teams of new personnel to ensure persons arriving to the Project are Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP).
  • Have an awareness of project budget restrictions and find ways to increase and expand training within the budget constraints.
  • Make recommendations for training solution improvements including systems, processes and e-learning tools.
  • Work with management and supplier representatives to purchase tools and services while delivering value for money and fit for purpose solutions.
  • Assist in the management, planning and delivery of training venues, whilst reviewing opportunities for added savings.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by Project HS&W Lead in connection with their job as may be requested.
