Project Manager - Specialist Construction

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance + Private Healthcare; Location: London & South East (with site visits); Employment Type: Permanent; Holidays: 24 Days + Bank Holidays

About the Role

Mploy Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist construction business delivering complex, technical projects across the London and South East region. The role involves overseeing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest commercial and client standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, organised and technically capable Project Manager with experience in specialist or complex construction environments. Marine construction experience is highly desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of multiple specialist construction projects concurrently from planning through to handover.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee progress, manage contractor performance, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation including programmes, risk assessments, method statements and financial reports.
  • Use Microsoft Project to develop, update and track detailed project programmes.
  • Coordinate resources, subcontractors and materials to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Lead progress meetings with clients, stakeholders and site teams.
  • Monitor budgets, valuations, variations and commercial performance.
  • Uphold rigorous quality assurance and compliance standards across all works.
  • Work closely with design, engineering and commercial teams to resolve project challenges proactively.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental requirements are consistently met.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience managing specialist construction projects is essential.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with NEC contract forms.
  • Marine construction experience is desirable but not essential (coastal, harbour, marine civils, or similar).
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously preffered but not essential.
  • Regular travel to sites across London & the South East is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and general Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisation, planning, and problem-solving capability.
  • A track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
Qualifications (Preferred but Not Essential)
  • Temporary Works Coordinator qualification (TWC)
  • CSCS / SMSTS / SSSTS
  • Engineering, construction management or related technical discipline (HNC/HND/Degree)
