Job Description – Project Manager
Location: Manchester / Birmingham (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum
Purpose of the Role
This role sits at the heart of a significant transformation programme, focused on integrating and standardising Business Systems, IT, and Networking technologies following acquisitions. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the organisation by driving uniformity in systems, processes, and network capability.
You will lead projects that are not just about upgrading technology but also about embedding change, aligning operational processes, and supporting the wider business in achieving a seamless post-acquisition transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of post-acquisition business transformation projects, including:
- Standardisation of Business Systems across acquired entities
- IT and network infrastructure integration and upgrades
- Process optimisation and operational efficiency initiatives
- Own the project lifecycle from initiation through to benefits realisation.
Change & Transformation
- Drive change management to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.
- Align newly integrated operations with organisational strategy and transformation objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure project alignment and delivery success.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes clearly and effectively.
Governance & Delivery Excellence
- Develop and maintain project documentation (PID, SoW, RAID logs, project schedules, status reports).
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
- Ensure governance standards, KPIs, and customer satisfaction benchmarks are consistently met.
Financial & Resource Management
- Track budgets and project costs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Balance project priorities, team capacity, and delivery timelines effectively.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering infrastructure, systems, and business improvement projects.
- Proven success in post-acquisition or transformation programmes involving IT, Business Systems, and Networking technologies.
- Strong background in business change and stakeholder management.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner (MSP, PMP or other formal PM certifications desirable).
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Monday.com, Trello, Smartsheet).
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience working in telecommunications / Managed Services.
- Familiarity with networking technologies (leased lines, broadband, MPLS, SIP, SD-WAN).
- Knowledge of ITIL and Service Transition processes.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities effectively.
Security Requirements
- Must be able to pass BPSS and any additional customer-specific security clearances.
