Job description
Overview

We have a vacancy for an experienced Project Manager to join the security transformation programme based at Heathrow.

Our delivery team offers comprehensive technical support, project management, and engineering services to Heathrow. The team provides guidance on emerging technologies. Our responsibilities encompass the design and installation of passive IT infrastructure, including networks, associated assets and connected devices such as common use terminals, displays, access control systems, and CCTV. Experience delivering large-scale IT projects in these disciplines is essential.

The role is full-time and predominantly on-site at Heathrow (approximately 4 days per week on-site). This may fluctuate in line with project requirements. The role is expected to last a minimum of 12 months.

We are seeking a candidate with a high level of project leadership capability who can ensure design delivery to time and budget on complex design projects. You will be responsible for bidding and delivering projects to time, cost, and quality throughout their lifecycle, from tender to closeout. You will be comfortable working with a diverse range of suppliers and be able to solve problems proactively. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced environment as part of a rapidly expanding team managing a range of successful portfolios.

Responsibilities for the Project Manager
  • Providing project leadership on large value IT projects
  • Collaborating with clients to protect and meet commercial objectives
  • Ensuring projects meet business revenue, profit, and cash-flow expectations
  • Ensuring bids and projects are appropriately resourced and taking a Bid leadership role on selective pursuits
  • Contributing to bid preparation and the work-winning process with focus on ensuring deliverability of the tendered works
  • Coordinating with practice managers to plan and adequately resource bids and projects
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships to support project delivery performance and maximise potential for project extensions and new work
  • Achieving defined personal productivity targets for yourself and your team
  • Ensuring compliance with Business Management, HSE and Quality procedures
  • Maintaining knowledge of current design and regulatory standards
Qualifications for the Project Manager
  • Degree qualified (degree or HNC in a relevant Engineering Discipline) preferable
  • Chartered status or working towards desirable
Experience and Skills for the Project Manager
  • Extensive project management experience within large-value information and communications systems and telecoms related projects
  • Experience of working with Heathrow, their Contractors and third parties would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Strong technical/ICS background essential
  • Experience of the management of a project portfolio
  • Good understanding of Design procedures, change control, checking and review requirements
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Ideally APMP or PRINCE2
  • Ideally some form of H&S qualification in CDM or APS, IOSHH
  • Required CSCS or equivalent
  • Experience with NEC4 contracting preferred
