Overview

Construction Project Manager - £20m Logistics / Industrial Scheme – Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire. Employment Type: Full time / Permanent (or Contract - to be confirmed).

About the Scheme & Client

Our client, a leading logistics & industrial property developer, is delivering a flagship £20 million mixed industrial / logistics scheme within Symmetry Park, Bicester.

  • The scheme is designed for Grade A specification, responding to strong occupier demand in the Oxford-Cambridge corridor.
  • High sustainability credentials are targeted (BREEAM Excellent / EPC A+ / net zero carbon in construction) as delivered in previous phases.
  • Excellent transport links: proximity to the M40 / A41 corridor, and access to regional labour catchments.
  • This is a marquee development in Oxfordshire, and the client needs a strong Construction Project Manager to take ownership of delivery from design through to handover.
Role Summary & Responsibilities

As the Construction Project Manager, you will be accountable for delivering the scheme successfully, working closely with design, contractor and stakeholder teams. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing project delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
  • Leading procurement, subcontractor selection, contract administration and budget management
  • Developing and managing programme(s), ensuring alignment with design milestones
  • Monitoring cost, quality, safety and environmental / sustainability performance
  • Coordinating the interface between architectural, structural, civil, MEP, sustainability and landscape design teams
  • Managing risk, reviewing & resolving technical and logistical challenges on site
  • Engaging with stakeholders including local authorities, neighbours, community, and the client's internal team
  • Leading reporting, change control, site governance, and project close-out
  • Mentoring / managing onsite delivery staff and subcontractor teams
Candidate Specification & Experience

We are looking for an established, commercially astute project manager who:

  • Has demonstrable experience managing medium to large scale logistics / industrial / commercial projects (ideally £15m-£30m+)
  • Has experience delivering to high sustainability / net zero / BREEAM standards
  • Understands the challenges of large-span warehouse construction (dock / level access doors, structural loads, yard design etc.)
  • Is strong technically, with excellent contract, procurement, cost and commercial capabilities
  • Has strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Is adept at risk management, with solid experience in problem solving on complex projects
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing tight interfaces
  • Holds relevant construction / engineering qualifications; chartered status or equivalent is preferable
